Staff: Rebecca Ruffing

Rebecca Ruffing has over a decade of experience in nonprofit management, program development, and community advocacy. Her expertise spans from social services to event production, with a deep commitment to building strong, inclusive communities. Rebecca is currently serving as the Friends of the Children – Coachella Valley Operations Director.

Rebecca's career began in the United States Air Force as a photojournalist and public affairs specialist, where she honed her communication and leadership skills. After completing her military service, Rebecca transitioned into hospitality management at a Fortune 500 company, where she managed operations and developed programming for diverse audiences. Her passion for social services led her to the nonprofit arena, where she has spent the last six years creating impactful change for vulnerable populations, including seniors and children.

Rebecca’s work extends beyond her professional roles. She volunteers with a variety of local organizations, including Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Desert and Palm Springs Animal Shelter, all while coaching the Coachella Valley Derby Girls, reflecting her commitment to mentorship and community engagement.
