febrero 20, 2025 Building Bright Futures Partnering with Desert Sands Unified for youth selection Selecting the right youth for our long-term mentorship program is a thoughtful and intentional process. As we expand our impact in the Coachella Valley, we are thrilled to partner with Desert Sands Unified School District (DSUSD) to welcome a new group of kindergarten and first-grade students into Friends of the Children. To kick off this partnership, our team recently had the opportunity to present to the dedicated teachers at Roosevelt and Hoover Elementary Schools. These presentations allowed us to introduce our mission, explain the youth selection process, and connect with educators who play a crucial role in identifying children who could benefit most from our long-term support. Over the next few weeks, our team will conduct classroom observations to ensure we select youth who will thrive in our program. By the end of February, 12 students from DSUSD will officially become part of our Friends of the Children - Coachella Valley family, beginning their journey with a dedicated, professional mentor who will walk alongside them for 12+ years, no matter what. This collaboration with DSUSD represents an exciting step forward in providing children with the consistent, caring relationships they need to reach their full potential. We are grateful to the teachers and administrators who share our commitment to creating brighter futures for children in our community. Stay tuned as we welcome our newest youth and embark on this incredible journey together!
