Career exploration doesn't have to wait until high school. Recently, Texas Roadhouse Indio welcomed our youth for a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to run a restaurant, and the kids got to try a little bit of everything.

They toured the restaurant and learned to make bread rolls, carry trays of water, and roll silverware. They even picked up a few line dancing moves along the way. It was the kind of hands-on afternoon where kids get to step into a real workplace and see how all the pieces fit together.

By the end of the visit, the kids were already talking about what they might want to be. Some landed on server, a few on professional baker, others thought chef sounded right, and at least a couple were sold on line dancing. Giving kids a real look at how a workplace runs plants ideas they carry with them, long after the day is done.

Days like this are a big part of what we do. When local businesses open their doors to our youth, they're showing them what's possible and helping them picture themselves in it. Thank you to Texas Roadhouse Indio for a memorable day, and for reminding our kids that the world is full of paths worth exploring.
