Kickin' It with Dad
How One Afternoon at the Park Brought Families Together
It started with an idea from three Friends. Q, along with newer mentors Sebastian and Norman, wanted to get kids and their fathers and father figures outside for the afternoon, off the couch and away from screens.
The result was Kickin' It with Dad, a day at the park built around healthy, active fun together. Families played kickball, flew kites, and took on Giant Tetris and Giant Kerplunk. There were fresh snacks and plenty of cheering. Some of the dads that started on the sidelines ended up running the bases.
The men who show up for our kids are an essential part of what we do. When they are present, engaged, and having fun alongside their children, it makes a real difference. We are grateful to Q, Sebastian, and Norman for making it happen. We’re already looking forward to next time.
