A Fair to Remember
More Than Rides and Games
For a lot of our youth, the Riverside County Fair & National Date Festival is one of those things they start looking forward to way before the gates open. This year, thanks to Pickering Events, we were able to make sure everyone who wanted to go got to go.
Friends took youth to the fair across multiple days so no one had to miss out. They rode rides, wandered through the petting zoo, loaded up on fair food, and won prizes at the games. The kind of day that's hard to stop talking about on the drive home.
The highlight everyone is still talking about was watching Isabella perform with her Ballet Folklórico group. Her mentor and peers were right there in the crowd cheering her on, and it was one of those moments that stays with you.
That's really what days like this are about. When Friends get to step back from the everyday and just have fun alongside the kids they serve, something special happens. It builds trust, it creates memories, and it reminds youth that the adults in their lives are genuinely there for them, not just in the hard moments but in the joyful ones too.
