Finding Joy and Belonging Throughout the Holidays

Throughout the holiday season, our youth have experienced moments of warmth and celebration. With mentors by their side, they’ve enjoyed the magic of the season in ways that felt welcoming and festive.

Holiday outings are about sharing experiences, creating memories, and helping youth feel part of something bigger. This season, mentors made that possible by showing up consistently and connecting youth to spaces filled with community spirit.

At Magic of Lights, youth took in colorful displays and enjoyed time together outdoors. For several, it was their first visit to a holiday light festival. Sharing that sense of wonder with their mentor made the evening especially meaningful, and for many, it was also their first time meeting Santa and Mrs. Claus.

SnowFest in Cathedral City brought a different kind of magic. Real snow transformed the day into an afternoon of laughter and play for youth who rarely get the chance to experience winter weather. Kids made snow angels, met festive characters, and enjoyed an afternoon that felt straight out of a holiday movie.

The season continued at Gingerbread Lane at Old Town Artisan Studios, where youth explored creative spaces while sipping hot chocolate and taking in the art around them. Santa and Mrs. Claus greeted families, and the cozy setting offered a chance to slow down and enjoy being together.

Across each outing, mentors were a steady presence. Their relationships with youth helped turn community events into moments of comfort, belonging, and shared joy. These experiences are part of the long-term support that helps youth feel secure and connected throughout the year.

We are grateful to the City of Indio, Cathedral City, Old Town Artisan Studios, and the many organizations that bring our community together during the holidays. Their partnership helps make the season brighter for the youth and families we serve.
