March 28, 2025 Prioritizing Family Well-Being Health Fair at the Clubhouse At Friends of the Children – Coachella Valley, we are committed to supporting the whole family. That’s why we were excited to host a Family Health Fair at La Conchilla Clubhouse, bringing together youth, families, and community partners for a day focused on well-being. The event featured informative sessions led by Inland Empire Health Plan and the JFK Foundation, covering important topics such as available health resources and bullying prevention. Families had the opportunity to connect with experts, ask questions, and gain valuable insights into services that can help them navigate challenges and build a healthier future. While parents and caregivers engaged in learning, program youth took part in St. Patrick’s Day-themed arts and crafts, adding a fun and creative element to the day. These activities provided a space for youth to express themselves while reinforcing the importance of community and connection. The event concluded with a special surprise—a birthday celebration for our Executive Director, Karrie Schaaf! Families, staff, and youth came together to share in the moment, recognizing Karrie’s dedication and leadership in building a strong foundation for our chapter and the families we serve. The Health Fair was a wonderful reminder that when we come together as a community, we can empower families with the knowledge, resources, and support they need to thrive. We are grateful to our partners at IEHP and the JFK Foundation for their collaboration and to all the families who joined us for this meaningful event. We look forward to continuing to provide opportunities that strengthen the well-being of the children and families in our program—because when families thrive, communities grow stronger.
