Supporting Children, Supporting Families
Our commitment extends beyond the children in our program. We’re here to support their families, too. A child’s success is closely connected to the stability and well-being of their caregivers, which is why we partner with organizations that can provide resources and guidance for the entire household.
Earlier this month, our program families took part in a Tenant’s Rights Workshop led by Riverside Legal Aid. Parents and caregivers gained valuable information about their rights as tenants, helping them feel more confident and empowered when navigating housing challenges.
While the adults were engaged in the workshop, program youth had the chance to reconnect with a familiar face, a California State Park Ranger who has visited with them before.
Together, they explored the world of native desert animals through hands-on learning. From scavenger hunts with clues like bones and scat to sketching their discoveries—bobcats, coyotes, and badgers—the activity encouraged curiosity and creativity.
The day was a reminder of how strong communities are built: by supporting both children and the families who raise them. We are grateful to Riverside Legal Aid and California State Parks for helping us nurture resilience, knowledge, and confidence across generations.
