Tour de Friends

Riding Toward Healthy Habits

Inspired by the energy of the Tour de Palm Springs, we brought youth and staff together for our own “Tour de Friends” at Palm Desert Civic Center Park. What started as a bike ride quickly became an afternoon of connection and movement. Kids rode alongside their mentors while talking about staying active and making healthy choices.

The ride was more than just fun. By bringing movement and wellness into mentoring relationships, we help youth build habits that support both their physical and emotional well-being. Mentoring through play helps youth develop confidence, build strong relationships, and practice skills outside the classroom and home. Shared experiences like this are at the heart of our approach, helping kids grow in ways that last.

We’re grateful to Salvation Army Cathedral City for donating nine children’s bikes, making sure every youth could join, and to Coachella Valley Mosquito and Vector Control for providing water bottles to keep everyone hydrated.

Learning and growth don’t have to happen inside or at a desk. With their new bikes and mentors by their side, our youth are ready for the next adventure.
